Dear Everyone,
I give up - Pete has gone out for what could be the greater part of the evening so I thought I would be able to please myself by watching Coronation Street at 7.30 then doing some quick e-mails on-line. You may or may not remember that our TV is on the computer and he's got some kind of digital radio arial plugged into the computer (it looks abit like an improved version of a lava lamp that changes colour) and all I have to do is click on the x to shut it down and then click on WinTV2000. So, at 7.30, I click on the x and nothing damn well happens. Abit of a fiddle to 'wake it up' but the radio's still going and I wont find out if Sunita has to go through with her arranged wedding.
Hello from the winter wonderland,
We did go to Scotland and had a great time, the wee car (a Rover Metro 1.1) did very well and at 3.30 on the 23rd we finally crossed the border and said "we made it, after 7 years" We ventured forth on the M1 up following the signs saying THE NORTH and turned west at Scotch Corner to head to Penrith. We stopped there for a bite to eat and a quick look and talked to Don and Jill who were just behind us. Then on to Glasgow. We arrived in the dark and followed the directions from Andrew and Vickie but we must have looked funny - peering out the windows at street signs and going god knows where, the motorway goes into a spaghetti of ramps and flyovers and no bloody signs until you are right there, it's a wonder we didn't get abused cutting people off. A couple of wrong turns and missed turn offs and we found Mansion House Gardens. Don and Jill did about the same and we gave them some help and they turned up about 1/2 hour after us.

Well we bit the bullet and have after nearly 5 years decided to buy a house in Milton Keynes. We brought over some of our New Zealand dollars and suprise, surprise! actually had more than we thought we would get due to the NZ $ being stronger than normal.
Finally after 4 1/2 months we took possession of our little bit of Engand on the 19th of December. The real estate company were about the last to actually know and I had to chase keys etc, as a last resort I came to the house and Joel was still moving out so he gave me the keys!
After a slow start we have seen progress in the last few days, the mortgage has been approved and they are doing the survey to make sure that the house is not a tent out in a field but actually in Milton Keynes. This should be done on the 1st of September and then we are hopefully at the contract stage.
